About Akasha~
"The core of your true self is never lost. Let go of all the pretending and the becoming you've done just to belong. Curl up with your rawness and come home. You don't have to find yourself; you just have to let yourself in" -D. Antoinnette Foy
I knocked on the door of my yoga journey over 20 years ago, and when the door opened, I knew that I had come home. My practice started selfishly but grew to become selfless by including all eight limbs of the yogic philosophy and practice. I quickly noticed a shift in my life's priorities and I gained santosha (contentment) in all aspects of myself. Practicing yoga brought mental and physical strength & clarity that was unparalleled. This continues to be a shining light of guidance in my own personal journey, and as I act as guide for those on their own. I am a humble servant to those who seek a better understanding of their physical, mental, and spiritual selves. Before educating myself through a 200hour accredited & registered yoga therapist (200ryt) training program in 2002, I logged in countless hours of personal practice which led me to a better, deeper understanding of myself. During this time, I also explored and completed a program in acupuncture and Eastern medicine which armed me a strong Western medicine background and understanding of kinesiology & biomechanics. In addition to a 200RYT program, and collegiate education, I immersed myself in all aspects of personal practice as well as countless continued education workshops with masters from around the world. With this I've been able to cultivate and grow my understanding and passion and share it with others by working weekly with group & 1on1 yoginis. Training and repetition are integral to personal growth but I firmly believe that one's own personal connection to their practice is what truly brings about awareness & a deeper understanding of oneself. I've specifically focused on Iyengar alignment principles, Kundalini prana breathing practices and spirituality enhancement, vigorous vinyasa training, and a deep intention of commitment as my personal teaching philosophy. These core principles have allowed me to guide others in their own personal transformations and continue to support them along their personal journey.
